\\Where do I find Competition Entry & Rules

There is only ONE CATEGORY for this year’s competition. The carving that most creatively represents the theme of this year’s festival (as determined by our judges) will be awarded our Grand Prize. We also may (at our option) decide to award additional prizes (ie: 1st Runner-up, People's Choice, etc.) if participation in the competition merits such additional awards. The theme is “a Perfect Vision in Wood”.  It is important that you complete and sign the entry form giving a complete description of your carving including a Title, Dimensions, including Height: (top to bottom) Width: (side to side) Depth: (front to back) and also, Type of wood. Carry-In Entry Date: Friday, September 25, 7 – 8:30 AM.

 

Mailed entries must arrive on or before Wednesday, Sept 23, 2020 for early entry handling by our staff. $25 Festival Registration and competition entry fees must be paid in full and return shipping instructions and return shipping expenses, submitter’s contact information, entry documents and fees (including insurance) received by G.O.W. by said deadline. Mailed entries failing to meet these requirements WILL NOT be included in the competition.

The number of entries allowed is unlimited, however all entries are subject to G.O.W. Competition Rules. Please read them carefully.  For an entry form click COMPETE here or on the home page.

 

 

\\When do I pay for classes?

Payment must accompany your registration. Please download registration form for instructions on making payment.

 

 

\\How late can I get a refund if my plans change?

Full refunds will be given for cancellations until August 28th.  No refunds can be made after August 28th unless the class registered for is cancelled. If the class is cancelled, students registered for that class will be given the option of taking a different class or receiving a full refund of class fees (not including any materials, tools, etc. retained by the registrant).  

 

 

\\What if the class I want is full?

If the class is already full when your registration (with payment) is received your payment will be held and you will be placed on a waiting list for any available opening in that class. If you are not placed in the class by August 28th your payment will be returned to you. If you do not wish to be placed on the waiting list for available openings, please say so when you register, in writing.

 

 

\\Is there lodging available nearby?

Click here on "Where to Stay"  for a list of area hotels. Camping is also available on site with hookups for water and electricity. Bathrooms and showers are also available on the campgrounds. Cost of camping is $15 per night. There is also a "dump station" just outside the main area of the fairgrounds for those with RVs.
